I think I can speak with almost certainty that most of us think we are paying too much for car insurance. Heck, when I pay my bill each month I think it’s too much too. It always seems like we know someone who is in our “same shoes” that is paying less than we are and we want to pay less for ours too!
As an Independent Insurance Agent, I shop multiple carriers so you can really know if you are paying too much. If we do find that you’re paying too much we make it super easy to switch for you.
If you keep reading I am going to cover a couple of reasons why you could be paying too much for car insurance. I hope you find this helpful.
You Are Not Bundling
The best thing you can do to reduce your car insurance rates is by bundling. One of the largest discounts offered by Insurance Carriers is the Multi-line discount. If you have your auto and home with separate companies now we can easily take a look at putting them together for you.
Have You Finished Your Degree?
Life gets so busy and the last thing that’s on your mind when you finish school is car insurance but if you have graduated since the last time you looked at your car insurance rates that could possibly help reduce your rates. Same goes if you have changed careers – some jobs are looked at better than others. Get in touch with us to see what your hard work could do for you!
Your Credit Score
In the insurance industry, we use a figure that is called an insurance score. One of the factors is your personal credit score. A couple of our carriers require your Social Security Number to provide an accurate quote. The reason behind this is your Insurance Score is a major factor in determining your rate. It doesn’t show as a hit on your credit report but if your credit score is low expect your rates to be higher. We suggest if you have a lower score to look into credit counseling. Doing this can help save you thousands down the road!
More Miles, Higher Rates
You can be the safest driver on the roads but unfortunately, the more you drive the greater chance you have of being in an accident. This is judged by each vehicle and there are actually discounts for those who drive vehicles less. We encourage our customers and others to keep a record of their annual miles. Doing this can help you save money down the road.
If you have any questions about any of these topics don’t hesitate to reach out to us. You can get in touch with us here. We have a ton of resources to help you find the right carrier or even find you ways to save with your current one!
